Volleyball

Volleyball is played on a Friday night at the QEYC Stadium anywhere from 4:00pm till 9:00pm. The draw comes out each week on the Tauranga Volleyball Website. This starts on 21st February and goes until 4th April 2025. This is 6-aside volleyball, on a full court and games are 40 minutes.  Students organise themselves into teams of 8-9 players.  Each team will need a Coach/Manager to be able to enter.

The cost to play volleyball for Term 1 is $38.00 per student. 

This grade will now not be allowed to catch and throw. They will play 6-a side on a FULL Adult Volleyball Court. Only TWO overhead serves (from the baseline) are allowed then underhand serves.  An adult MUST be side-line at all times of play to supervise the team.

 

KiwiTag

KiwiTag is played on Tuesday nights at Mitchell Park at 3:45pm. Students organise themselves into their own teams of 9-10 players. No more than 10 players can be in a team. The competition starts on the 18th February until 1st April 2025.

Each team needs a Coach/Manager to be able to enter. Each team will get issued shorts to use by the Ōtūmoetai Eels Club at the first game for the term and these need to be returned at the last game.

The cost to play KiwiTag this term is $30.00 per student.

Water Polo

There are three grades, ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’. A & B Grades are suited to the more experienced players. C Grade is compulsory to all inexperienced players. 

Things have changed for Water polo this year. The first three weeks are about activation and engagement, trying to increase participation and support schools to ease the transition into competitive play. The first three weeks of competition we can enter up to three teams at no cost, giving students a chance to try competitive play before committing.

Intermediate B and C Grade will play on Tuesday’s anywhere between 4:00pm-8:00pm. This will run for 4 weeks from 4th March until 1st April 2025. Intermediate A Grade will play on Friday’s between 7:00pm-8:30pm. This will run for 4 weeks from 7th March until 4th April 2025.

Games are 30 minutes.

The B and C grade play in the dive pool at Toi Ohomai Polytechnic. The A Grade play at Baywave. Please note your child must be able to tread water unassisted for at least five minutes in the deep pool.

Sunday’s are booked at Baywave from 12:00 noon to 2:00pm for trainings for all teams.

The cost to play water polo in Term 1 is $80.00. This covers trainings at Baywave (apart from entry fee), use of equipment and registration fee to play in the competition.
